• Who I am Destined to Be

    April 29, 2024
    reflection
    I can be who I am destined to be,
    If I could go back and just change my way.
    A bright shining star for the world to see.

    I’d alter my past, from pain remain free.
    Avoid the mistakes I pay for today.
    I can be who I am destined to be.

    No time for grief in my flawless story.
    Temptations all fail to lead me astray.
    A bright shining star for the world to see.

    Shame and torment now sweeter than honey.
    Hateful words never will I give away.
    I can be who I am destined to be.

    My scripted life full of false grins and glee.
    Shall I risk all I am so I can stay
    A bright shining star for the world to see?

    Or make choices true, remain ever me?
    My light and my dark, endure all I may.
    I can be who I am destined to be,
    A bright shining star for the world to see.

    reflection
    And then she understood, for better or worse,
    Her chaos was her power, never a curse.

  • The Maiden

    March 21, 2024
    reflection
    Oh, have you seen her,
    The maiden so fair?
    With icy blue eyes
    And locks of blonde hair.

    With a gleaming smile
    And heart made of gold.
    A laugh to cure all,
    Or so I am told.

    From lips like candy,
    Her words kind and sweet.
    The type of friend you
    Would most love to meet.

    Soft arms to give you
    The warmest embrace.
    A pureness of joy
    Expressed on her face.

    I once caught a glance,
    Wish it’d been clearer.
    Alas, my mistake,
    ‘Twas just a mirror.

    It feels as though I
    Knew her once before,
    In another land,
    On some distant shore.

    Was it a past life?
    Seems so long ago.
    Did our paths cross then?
    I just have to know.

    Oh, have you seen her,
    The maiden so fair?
    I long to find her.
    Oh, please take me there!

  • The Stranger

    March 17, 2024
    dark stories
    He stalks her through busy streets at midday;
    So cunning, his presence unknown to her.
    Learning her habits; he loves the foreplay.

    How curious, a chance meeting today.
    So practiced and polished, he baits the lure;
    Hard to resist, his best work on display.

    Safe at home, musing over their wordplay;
    Pulse quickens, she can feel her heart flutter.
    Flush warm cheeks give her excitement away.

    As she sleeps, he studies from the driveway;
    Oblivious to the lurking danger.
    Brutal to keep his excitement at bay.

    He can almost taste her looming decay,
    But his shock could not feel any stranger.
    Bed empty, he turns around in dismay.

    Forgive me, for the surprise I betray.
    Tempting, the thrill for which I so hunger.
    My confession to you, sly little stray;
    I am the hunter, and you are the prey.
